Sigo sin entender por qué DreamHost y no Hostgator, que no se cae.

Ya estamos otra vez. LLeva toda la mañana caído o semicaído (lentísimo). No quería anunciarlo porque DIEGO se va a reír de nosotros (otra vez)...

Renewed external attacks affecting customers across all datacenters

We are seeing a new wave of attacks, similar to the ones that were causing issues yesterday. They have restarted and are causing new problems again today, and despite targeting wordpress, affect all customer on our web hosting services. Our admin team is aware of this renewed series of attacks and are already working on trying to restore services to normal. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience this causes you and we will post updates as soon as more information becomes available.

Update May 14th 12:30pm PDT: We have confirmed that one of the fixes we have prepared is working in our testing environment. We are in the process of prepping it now for rollout across our system. We’ll post more information regarding this as soon as we have it.


Update May 14th 11:50am PDT: Our admin team has determined that the best course of action at this time is to temporarily block all access to WordPress logins across our system until a more sustainable fix can be rolled out. Unfortunately, this means you will not be able to login to your WordPress sites for the time being (you will receive a 503 error). We are already in the process of implementing the fix and rolling it out everywhere and will re-enable WordPress logins as soon as we possibly can. We’re sorry for the inconvenience this causes you, but it is necessary for us to better get things under control.

Update May 14th 11:15am PDT: We have just pushed out new mod_security rules to help mitigate the effects of this attack. This should mitigate some of the attack traffic we’re seeing. Some of you are noticing 503 errors when logging into wordpress, and we’re investigating that at this time.

Juro por Demene que antes de que acabe el año saco todos los proyectos alojados en DremHost. Me da una pereza horrible pasar uno a uno cada Wordpress pero es lo que hay al no tener un cpanel. Posible nuevo Hosting para aterrizar, Hostgator. (plan Baby)WWW

Joder no pensaba que iba ha ser tan feo. En este caso adelantaremos la salida de DreamHost para Noviembre como máximo. WWW

Si contactas con Soporte de Dreamhost te meten la bronca precisamente por eso, por no estar actualizado. Pero seamos realistas: no es factible actualizar cada vez que sale una nueva versión. Yo por ejemplo tengo webs en Joomla 1.0.15 (que está más viejo que el charlestón) y no me planteo actualizarlas cada vez que sale una versión nueva de Joomla.

Seamos claros el WP, es un CMS masivo que ha hecho que todo el mundo tenga acceso a publicar webs en dos clicks, pero a la larga el mantenimiento es muy farragoso. Son un objetivo fácil de hackers que utilizan sus vulnerabilidades, que toda web tiene (ver ejemplo de name.com) o casi; pero es que hay hasta webs que te dicen como hackear un WP y cualquier hijo de vecino lo intenta.

Este puede ser la muerte de un éxito, o bien que los ISPs empiecen a cobrar un extra por instalar un WP, empezad a pensar eso.

Yo siempre digo que la empresa que instala un WP a un cliente, es tengo y cliente y me olvido.

@ Rutaclick: Te has mirado los Joomlas tan antiguos que no tengas codigo infliltrado?Lo urgente lo hacemos inmediatamente, para milagros tardamos un poco más.
