Ten months after .eu domains became available to the public the EU Registry (Eurid) celebrates the registration of the 2.5 millionth
.eu domain.
The .eu extension has long surpassed .us (1.19 million active domains) and .biz (1.6 million active domains) as well as all European country extension except .de (10.65 million active domains) and .uk (5.6 million active domains).
A Google search reveals increasing numbers of active .eu sites, and top reported .eu sales over the past year include:

However, it looks like word of the increasing popularity of .eu domains has not extended to everyone. In a recent survey, Europe's largest domain registrar 1&1 found that 51 percent of British small and medium enterprises failed to correctly identify that a .eu domain shows that a website address originates from within the European Union.
The EU Registry also announced this week that its website got a facelift. The website is now using the open source content management
system Joomla:
[...] EURid launched a revamped version of its public website. While the URL for the registry site remains the same (www.eurid.eu)
the presentation of the content has undergone a complete metamor- phosis. This change is similarly reflected in all the EURid promotional material.
Along with the new website comes the introduction of a new official .eu logo. Although this logo looks similar to its predecessor, on closer inspection one can see that the background map now also includes the new member states, Romania and Bulgaria.

Yo a los .eu les ando de lejos. Me parece una extension que estaría detras del .com, los .cctlds, los .org, etc.....y despues el .eu -y esto que solo en Europa interesa el tema (o webs solo enfocados al mercado europeo), en fin, no.DominiosIDN.com ||
