You can buy a .es domain without problems. I have sold some .es to people outside Spain. Look for example to memorandum.es:

    https://www.nic.es/esnic/esn/verValidacionWhoisAction?dominio=memorandum.es

    Maybe dangerous no ?
For example, about a domain canceled because you're not spanish ? ? ?

    Thanks for the info !

My info: masculin .com (masculino in french) just sold for 150.000€ Dudes...

The .es TLD is unrestricted, you can see it for example at

    http://www.dotster.com/domains/tlds/es

It is designed for Spain, but anyone can register and use the spanish .ES domain extension.

    I don't understand, on OVH.com if I want to reg a dot.es, here what it's writen:
"Vous enregistrez un .es, vous devez résider Espagne" = You're regitering a .es, you should live in Spain.

Moreover when I want to register elsewhere (another spanish registrars) they ask me for a mysterious number (Número de identificación NIF/CIF/NIE), but what is it ??

Please, can anyone help us ??

    You can register a .es

    Read the faqs at https://www.nic.es/faqs/quien_puede.html

"The physical or legal people and the organizations with and without personality that maintain interests with Spain ."

"The Public Organization Enterprise Red.es, considers that the meaning of "interests" or "bonds with Spain" covers, among others, the following situations:

    * Established physical or legal people in Spain
    * Physical or legal people whom want to direct total or partially his services to the Spanish market
    * Physical or legal people whom want to offer information, services and/or products, that are tie cultural, historically or socially with Spain

NIE, número de identificación de extranjero = ID number issued to foreign residents in Spain
NIF, número de identificación fiscal = personal tax number
CIF, codigo de identificación fiscal = Spanish tax identification code for businesses

    From http://www.spainview.com/abbrev.html

    Format:

    NIF: nnnnnnnn-X (n= number X=letter A-Z)
    NIE: X-nnnnnnnn-X (n= number X=letter A-Z)
    CIF X-nnnnnnnn (n= number X=letter A: Sociedades Anonimas, B: Sociedades Limitadas, ...)

My english is very bad, "patatero" in spanish.

NIE is for non-spanish residents on Spain, formely I supose is what a DNI (in Spain all people have DNI).

The purpouse of this numbers is the legal identificacion of person or company in Spain.

I think the sustitutes for a non-spanish resident are:

    NIF or NIE= Passport Number
    CIF = TAX Number

But the date CIF / DNI / NIE is not obligatory in some registrars, is opcional.
